In the Summer of 2021, the BBC asked the J4 team to help them explore their property options in Birmingham… and what an exploration it’s been! Working with an amazing team we unearthed a real gem – a new home for the BBC at the former Typhoo Tea Factory in Digbeth.

Our aim is to now transform The Tea Factory into the BBC’s first net zero carbon building, whilst also making the building accessible for everyone. It’s a tight delivery programme with plenty of hurdles to navigate, but (having also been involved in BBC Wales’ move to Central Square) we know it’s going to be ‘one helluva fun ride’.
