Final phase of summer project with University of Bath MBA Students

We had another great meeting with our summer project MBA students today as we go into the final phase of the work. Having carried out their interviews and background research, our MBA team have been considering how new and emerging technology could be used to benefit both the J4 team and its clients.

A fundamental finding of the project was that technology should not get “in the way” of developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, design teams and project stakeholders. Instead, technology should be used to enable better internal communications and external reporting; with the aim of “freeing-up” time to focus on those important relationships.

The students have taken inspiration from the FinTech sector (Financial Technology). This sector is lightyears ahead of the property and construction industry in its use of technology for professional services and, as such, there are some easy lessons to be learnt and big benefits to be gained for both the J4 team and its clients. The plan is to incorporate these benefits and lessons learnt into the J4 approach over the coming months and then start developing our own technology solutions for the other interesting ideas we’ve got.
